introducing: Micah Francis

I went to bed a little past midnight on November 1st. Mom woke me up at 1:30 a.m. saying she was in labor. The midwife and her assistant were on their way. Because of some scary complications, Dad, Mom, Paige, the midwife, the midwife's assistant, and I were on our way to the hospital within ten minutes of the midwife arriving.
Mom recognized two of the nurses right away. They were with her when she had Faith. This was a comfort as they closely monitored her and the baby. Both were doing fine, but it was decided that we would stay at the hospital to be safe rather than sorry. The doctor got there between 7-8. He is a super funny guy who puts everyone at ease. After coming in the room he told a story about delivering an eleven pound baby, which had everyone in the room laughing.
Mom had Micah at 9:04 a.m. He is her smallest baby, weighing 7 lbs. 7 oz. He was 21 in. long. He has a head full of dark hair and sweet little squinting eyes. He sticks to a rigid schedule of eating, sleeping, filling his diaper, and looking perplexed, hehe (example in the photos below).
We hung out at the hospital for another hour or so. We ate a bit of breakfast and watched Mom hold Micah. I then drove Dad home, made lunch for the children, fed the animals, and took a nap. When I woke up I desperately wanted to go back to the hospital, as I hadn't got to hold Micah yet. But I didn't have enough time, so I headed off for a night class at college. I announced that my Mom had the baby that morning and of course upon hearing how many siblings I have everyone was shocked.
Night class never seemed to take so long! *smile* It was finally over and I sped home. Dad had taken Mom, Paige, and Micah home a couple hours earlier. I dropped my books and found him as soon as I walked through the door that night (my first time holding him in the two photos above).
He is a calm little guy. He is an extremely easy baby after Lilliana. The only trouble is that he has to be rocked for him to sleep well. Mom is having trouble with postpartum insomnia. We are trying to help her get as much sleep as possible.
We are loving this new little guy in our home. Micah is such an adorable baby boy, he looks a lot like a baby Rylan. We can't stop kissing his soft little cheeks.
Lilliana says that we are going to HAVE to keep this baby. *smile* Now she tells people that she has a baby and a horsey. She loves to hold baby Micah and so does everyone else.
